Tailoring Orders
Create and manage alteration work tickets, track garment-level statuses, and print tags.
Tailoring Orders are work tickets for in-house alterations. Each order is tied to a customer, has a due date, and contains one or more garments with specific alteration instructions. Status tracking moves each garment through your shop's workflow from intake to pickup.
Creating a Tailoring Order
- 1 From the sidebar, go to Orders and click Add Tailoring Order.
- 2 Search for the customer by name or phone. If they're new, click Create New Customer and enter their details.
- 3 Set the Needed By date — when the work must be complete.
- 4 Click Create Order. You'll land on the Order Overview to add garments.
Adding Garments
A single order can contain multiple garments (e.g., a jacket and trousers).
- 1 On the Order Overview, click Add Garment.
- 2 Select the garment type (Jacket, Trousers, Shirt, Vest, etc.).
- 3 For each garment, click the instruction columns (Hem, Waist, Sleeve, etc.) to add measurements or notes.
- 4 Repeat for each garment being altered.
Garment Instructions
Each garment row has columns for specific alterations. Common instruction types include:
Instruction columns can be configured in Settings → Tailoring Settings.
Tracking Status
Each garment has its own status. Click the status on a garment row to advance it through your configured workflow:
Configure status names and colors in Settings → Tailoring Settings. The order-level status reflects the least-advanced garment status.
Order Notes & Payment Status
Notes
Use the Notes section on the Order Overview to record any additional details about the job. Notes are visible to all staff on the order.
Payment Status
Mark an order as paid or unpaid to track which orders have been collected. This is a simple flag and does not process payments.
Printing Tags
From the Order Overview, click Print Tag to generate a printable work ticket. The tag includes the customer name, order number, due date, and garment details. Tag format is configured in Settings → Tag Printers.
Tailoring Orders List
The main Tailoring Orders list shows all active orders by default, sorted by due date. Use the filter tabs to view orders by status (e.g., only "Ready for Pickup" orders). The list shows order number, customer name, due date, number of garments, and overall status at a glance.
