Setting Up Store Mode

Install the Store Mode app on a tablet or phone and register it so employees can log in with a PIN.

Store Mode is a simplified tablet interface for in-store use. Employees log in with a 4-digit PIN — no password needed. It's designed for fitting stations, tailoring counters, or anywhere staff collect customer measurements and details on the floor.

What You'll Need

  • An iPad, Android tablet, or smartphone with a modern browser (Safari, Chrome)
  • A second device (desktop or laptop) logged in as an admin — you'll need it to register the tablet
  • At least one employee user with a Store Mode PIN configured (see Users & Employees)

Step 1: Install the App on the Device

Do this on the tablet or phone you want to use as a Store Mode device.

  1. 1 Open the browser on the device and go to suittracker.app.
  2. 2 Click Log In in the upper corner, then click Store Mode Login at the bottom of the login screen.
  3. 3 Click Install SuitTracker Store Mode App. On-screen instructions will walk you through adding it to your home screen.
  4. 4 Add to home screen and launch the app from the home screen icon — this is required. Store Mode only runs correctly when opened as an installed app, not in the browser.

Step 2: Note the Registration Code

The first time Store Mode opens on a new device, it detects that the device is not yet registered. A registration code will appear on screen. Write it down or keep the device nearby — you'll enter it in the next step.

Note: The registration code is temporary. If the screen times out or the app is closed before completing registration, re-open Store Mode to generate a new code.

Step 3: Register the Device

Do this on a separate computer logged in as an admin while the registration code is visible on the tablet.

  1. 1 Go to Settings → Store Mode.
  2. 2 Under Store Mode Devices, click Add Device.
  3. 3 Enter the registration code shown on the tablet.
  4. 4 Give the device a name — something that identifies it physically, like iPad 1 or Fitting Room Tablet.
  5. 5 Click Save. The tablet will automatically detect that it's been registered and show the PIN login screen.

Step 4: Log In

Once registered, employees tap their 4-digit PIN on the keypad to log in. Each employee has their own PIN, set in Settings → Users. See Users & Employees for how to create users and assign PINs.

Tip: Store Mode automatically logs out after a configurable period of inactivity. Adjust the timeout in Settings → Store Mode → Inactivity Log Out.

Managing Registered Devices

All registered devices appear in Settings → Store Mode → Store Mode Devices. From here you can see each device's name and when it was last used. To decommission a device — if it's lost, replaced, or no longer in use — click the trash icon to remove it. A removed device will prompt for a new registration code the next time Store Mode is opened on it.
