Recording Measurements
How to record, update, and use customer measurements across orders and weddings.
Accurate measurements are the foundation of every successful order. SuitTracker stores measurements on each customer's profile so they're available across all orders and weddings, even years later.
Accessing the Measurements Tab
- 1 Open a customer's profile from the Customers list or from a Wedding Member row.
- 2 Click the Measurements tab.
- 3 Enter or update values in any field. Changes are saved automatically as you type.
Measurement Fields
SuitTracker includes fields for all standard formalwear measurements:
Upper Body
Lower Body
Size & Fit Fields
In addition to raw measurements, you can record:
Coat Size
The size the customer tries on (e.g., 42R). This is the brand-specific try-on size, not derived solely from measurements.
Trouser Size
Waist and length as worn (e.g., 34x32).
Fit Preference
Notes on how the customer prefers their garments to fit — slim, classic, relaxed, etc.
Notes
Free-text field for any fitting notes — unusual proportions, previous alteration history, preferences.
Measuring in Store Mode
Store Mode provides a simplified measurement entry interface designed for use on tablets on the fitting floor. Staff can enter measurements for a customer without navigating the full admin interface.
- 1 Open Store Mode on a registered device (PIN login required).
- 2 Search for the customer by name or phone, or scan a tag if available.
- 3 Enter measurements directly in the Store Mode form. They sync to the customer's profile in real time.
Best Practices
Always try on a sample garment. Measurements alone can't account for brand differences. Always have the customer try on a garment from the brand being ordered.
Record coat size over raw measurements for ordering. The coat size the customer tries on in the brand they're ordering is more reliable than derived sizing.
Use the notes field. Any unusual fit needs, past alterations, or preferences the customer mentions should be logged in the notes field for future reference.
Update measurements when they change. Customer weight and size can change between weddings. Don't assume old measurements are still current.
