Rental Orders

Track garments rented to customers with due dates, pickup, and return workflows.

Rental Orders track garments from your own inventory that are rented to customers. Unlike tailoring orders, rental orders focus on checkout and return — when garments go out, when they come back, and whether they've been returned in good condition.

Creating a Rental Order

  1. 1 From the sidebar, go to Orders and click Add Rental Order.
  2. 2 Search for or create the Customer.
  3. 3 Set the Rental Date (pickup) and Due Date (return).
  4. 4 Click Create Order. Add rental items on the Order Overview.

Adding Rental Items

From the Order Overview, add each piece of the rental:

  1. 1 Click Add Item.
  2. 2 Select the garment type and enter the barcode or item identifier if using a tagged inventory system.
  3. 3 Add notes about the item's condition at the time of rental.
  4. 4 Repeat for each rental piece (jacket, trousers, vest, shirt, tie, etc.).

Rental Status Workflow

Reserved
Checked Out
Returned
Inspected

Status names and colors can be customized in Settings → Rental Settings.

Tracking Returns

When garments are returned, update each item's status to Returned and optionally to Inspected once checked for damage. Add notes if any damage is found.

Tip: Use the notes field on return to document any cleaning needed or damage discovered. This creates a record if there's a dispute later.

Late Returns & Due Dates

The Rental Orders list highlights overdue orders. An order is overdue when its return date has passed and the items have not been marked as returned. Use this view to identify late rentals and follow up with customers.

Printing Rental Tags

Use Print Tag on the Order Overview to generate a rental ticket with the customer's name, rental dates, and item list. Attach tags to garment bags for easy identification.
