Creating a Tailoring Order

Tailoring Orders in SuitTracker let you create work tickets for alterations and custom work, tie them to a customer, set due dates, and track garment-level instructions and statuses. You can add multiple garments to an order and update their status as work progresses.
Steps to create a new tailoring order
- Sign in and select your organization.
- From the left menu, click Orders, then click Add Tailoring Order.
- Choose or create the Customer for the order:
- Search by name or phone to select an existing customer; or
- Click Create New Customer and enter first/last name and optional contact details.
- Set the Needed By date for the order.
- Click Create Order to save and open the Order Overview.
- You'll be redirected to the new order where you can add garments and instructions.
After creating the order
- Add Garments: Click Add Garment and choose the garment type. Repeat to add multiple garments.
- Add Instructions: For each garment, click a column (e.g., Hem, Waist, Sleeve) to add specific instructions or numbers.
- Update Status: Click the garment row status to advance it through your configured tailoring statuses (e.g., Received → In Progress → Ready).
- Notes: Use the Notes section to add order-level notes. Changes are saved automatically.
- Print Tag: Use Print Tag to print a ticket for the order.
Optional: Store Mode and Tailoring View
- If your shop uses Store Mode, you can open the Tailoring view for an order at to quickly update statuses in-store.
- Tailoring statuses and colors can be customized in Organization Settings.
